Christmas Storage

You could say that Christmas is over now that it is December 27th, I know many people you will still celebrate though the new year but for me all the Christmas parties are done, every present has been opened, and the trees have been taken down. So why not show you how I store the Christmas decor that lives in my bedroom.

When it comes to putting away any holiday decor I also find that I miss something and have to go back to the bin and try and make it fit. So over the past two years I have tired putting my holiday (mainly Christmas) decor away differently.

Step 1:
Gather everything you will need to store your decorations. For me that includes:

  • Holiday decoration bin (I just changed it from a soft sided no top cube bin from target to this Hefty Extra Space bin I got with a Christmas gift)
  • Bags for the little stuff
  • News paper or tissue paper to wrap the breakables in
  • And a small Sterilite Latch Box from Wal-mart
  • ( I did not end up using the light box at the top)

Step 2:
Gather all items that you are going to be storing.

Step 3:
  Put everything away.
  • Wrap the breakables in news paper or tissue paper
  • Put the small things in the bags
  • Put everything in the big tote or box and close the lid
  • Put bin away tell next year!

How do you store your holiday decor?

Why all the changes?

I want to take a few minutes and tell you all why I am making these changes.

I started this blog as Simply Perfect Planner because at the time I was really into my planner, and I thought I would be able to have enough posts related to planners that I could put up. But after about three posts I realized that yes it was something that I liked but I was already was getting tried of writing only planner posts. So after my long unneeded break I started doing more on this blog and I found that I really wanted to post some different kind of posts.

So that is where we are now I have found that I really want to more posts than I was and I have started making a list of different types of blogs I want to do. I am planning on doing more organization type blogs and some fun ones, onces in a while.

....

To make a long story short I am going to be making changes to this blog.

I have a post going up on New Years day that will also talk about all the changes a little more.

Christmas Decor 2015

Before I start this post you may have noticed a change in how the blog looks. I have a post going up on New Years day that will tell you more about why I changed the look of the blog and what is going to be happening in the new year with this blog. Just mainly some content changes, since this is the first real blog I have done I am learning as I go with what I like and what I don't like. So please bare with me.

Now enough of that time to get on to the real post.

Even though it is only December 26th most people I know me included still have our Christmas decor up and since technically Christmas is over Christmas related things are on sale at almost every store that sells Christmas things. So with this I thought I would show you how I decorate my bedroom for Christmas. I am only showing you my bedroom because  I live with my parents and don't want to show everything in our home.

The first thing I always put up is my advent calendar. I am not sure where this one is from, but it is like a felt or fleece material.

We put up a real tree each year in our living room but I wanted one just of me that I could decorate it how I wanted to. I got this 3 or 4 foot fake tree from Wal-mart. It is a great tree if you need one quick put its not my favorite tree. It looks very fake and is very hard to shape ( I am very picky with my Christmas tree) I could not get a photo of it lite because the photos would not turn out :(

The silver ball ornaments and the cupcakes are from Wal-mart, the topper is from Hobby Lobby, I do not know where the red and silver snowflakes are from they where a gift.

For about 12 years my godmother got me these bears for different holidays or events. These are two of my favorite Christmas ones.

I have not idea where any of these things are from I have had them for many years or they where gifts but I do know the blanket is from Wal-mart.

I hope you enjoyed a peak at my Christmas decor from this year. I don't go all out which I like it not being super cluttered with stuff but I put out enough that you can tell its decorated for Christmas. I also put out a nativity scene but I did not get a photo of it.

I hope you had a great holiday season.

Easy Holiday Nails

Ok so I know I have been gone for a while but life happens and school and work take over before I realized I had not been posting. But while on my long unplanned break I came up with some fun new things to do with this blog. I am still planning on doing planner related posts but I want to start doing some posts that are also related to other things I enjoy.

I don't exactly know what I will be posting on but there will be some different things. That is why this posts is on Easy and Quick Holiday Nail Art. I also started a YouTube channel called Simply Perfect Planner. I mainly made this channel to help show more of what I am blogging about.

Now that all the general stuff is out of the way lets get started with this posts.

......

With the Holidays less than a week away I wanted to paint my nails for the holidays but I am not artistic enough to do the Santa or reindeer nail art so I chose something very simple, candy canes. I mean how hard can it be to paint white strips on your nails.

I used the Wet and Wild Fergi nail polish in velvet lounge and the Rimmel London French White Tip Pro polish in french white nail tip liner.

I could not get the YouTube video itself on here so here is the Blogger version and here is the link for the YouTube one. https://youtu.be/LMZs4wpUN44

I painted a base of red nail polish some nails I did two coats and some only one it depended on how much nail polish was on the brush the first time.

After the red is dry I took the white tip polish which has a small fine brush and painted three strips on my ring fingers.

I love how they turned out and think they are perfect for the holidays!

Let me know what your favorite holiday nail art is!

Happy Holidays!

Planner Review: Mead Weekly/Monthly Planner

I was trying to come up with post idea when I thought, I just changed to a different planner so why not review the one I was using.

Since earlier this year I was using the Mead Weekly/Monthly Planner that was January to December 2015. That was one of the main reasons I got it because it was only for one year and not 18 months. I purchased it from Wal-Mart in late January and started using it in February.

It comes with 12 tabbed months, areas for each day, a future planning section, note area, four year out look, and a page that is 2015 planning. From coil to edge it is 6 inches wide and 8 1/4 inches long. The material it is made out of is defiantly made to last.

The monthly pages are nice, you get a little column on the second page where you could put monthly to-do's or reminders. I would just have liked for the calendar itself to be a little bigger mainly the boxes so there was more writing room. But other than that (which is me getting a little picky) I like it.

The daily pages is where it gets harder for me. When I got the planner I did not have much to plan so it was nice that the boxes for small. But now I do have more things to plan and found that I was running out of room. I also found that I wanted to try a vertical method of daily pages. I also wished that the weekend spots where bigger mainly for when I have a lot to-do on the weekend.

Overall I do really like the planner, I think it is a great one for if you don't have a lot to plan each day. It would also be great for maybe a college or high school student. The biggest thing that drew me to this planner was that it had a very pretty cover and doesn't look like a traditional planner.

My Planner Essentials

What do I like to use when I am planning out my day or week?

My planner essentials are made up of things that help me keep on track with what I need/have to do each day.  They are:

  • Black Paper Mate Ink Joy pen (or any black pen)
  • Colored pens (right now I like the Bic Atlantis)
  • Stick notes
  • Planner stickers (I mainly use these to help me remember ''chores'' that have to be done)
  • White out (not pictured) we all know why this is needed! ☺

Happy Planning

Lets Plan: Back to School Planner

This school year has been my first time back to school in 2 years and I have found having a planner is making it A LOT easier to keep track of everything! So I want to show you all how I set my planner up for school. (keep in mind I am only taking one class right now but you could totally use this for multiple classes!)

I am taking my class online this semester so all the information I need for my class from due dates to the assignments I have are posted right away; which makes setting up my planner a lot easier.

The first thing I do when my class starts is to print off my syllabus and highlight all the due dates, even though everything is online its just nice to have a paper copy.( I did not put in a photo of my syllabus because it has to much personal information on it that I can not cover all up) Once everything is highlighted or underlined I reach for my planner.

I don't put all the due dates in my planner for the whole semester, otherwise it gets a little overwhelming seeing everything that has to be done, so I like to do this next part at the start of each week. But totally do this step in a way that will work with your classes due dates.

My lesson plans switch over on Thursdays so either every Thursday or usually on Sunday I will sit down with my syllabus and planner and write in the weekly/daily when things are due.

I use stickers that I made on my computer to help mark when things are due, I also like to use color pens for when I put stuff down in the monthly view. I use sticky notes to write down when things are due just because I find having it written down in multiple spots helps me to remember.

Happy Planning!

Lets get planning!

Welcome to Simply Perfect Planner!

I have never been a huge planner I just could never stick with it, until now (well the last few months ago)! And like most of the planner enthusiasts today I found planner stickers and fell in love with finding cute ones! I have since figured out how to make them on my own so I can have them be what I really want (yes I will share a post later about that!).

Okay enough about my love affair with planners (for now), you are probably wondering what you can see on this blog. And that would be:

  • Anything planner related
  • DIY stickers
  • Maybe some planner reviews? we will see
  • And maybe some random posts

I am new at this whole blogging thing so please bear with me and lets figure this out together.

Happy Planning!
